Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Klont (Pty) Ltd collects, uses and protects personal information when you use this website, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

1. Who we are

Klont (Pty) Ltd (“Klont”, “we”) is a private company registered in South Africa, registration number 2026/736173/07, with its registered office at 11 Skulp Ave, Tergniet, Western Cape, 6525. Klont is the responsible party for personal information collected through this website. Contact: contact@klont.co.za, 061 042 7250.

2. What we collect

• Contact form: your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message. When you select Send message, this information passes through our website server and Resend’s email delivery service to our mailbox at contact@klont.co.za so we can respond.
• Emails and calls to us: whatever you choose to tell us when you write or phone.
• Technical data: our hosting provider, Railway, records request information such as your IP address, browser type, requested page, time and response status. We also temporarily use your IP address to limit repeated contact-form submissions. Our application does not write contact-form messages or email addresses to its logs.

The chat demonstration on the home page runs entirely in your browser with scripted replies. What you type into it is not sent to us or anyone else.

3. Why we use it

• To reply to your enquiry and, if you ask, to prepare a quote. This relies on your consent and on steps you request before entering a contract (POPIA section 11(1)(a) and (b)).
• To keep the website secure and working, using limited technical data (section 11(1)(f)).

We use personal information only for the purpose it was collected for, or a closely related one. We do not sell it and do not use it for third-party marketing.

4. Sharing

We use the following providers to operate this website and handle enquiries:

• Railway: website hosting and technical logs. See Railway’s privacy policy.
• Resend: delivery of contact-form emails, including the name, email address, service and message you submit. See Resend’s privacy policy.
• GoDaddy Professional Email powered by Titan: our email mailboxes and forwarding of enquiries sent to contact@klont.co.za. See GoDaddy’s privacy policy.

These providers may process information outside South Africa. Resend stores email data in the United States; choosing its Ireland sending region does not change that storage location. The providers’ privacy notices describe their international processing and safeguards. Transfers must meet the requirements of section 72 of POPIA.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

5. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access to our mailboxes. No system is completely secure. If a security compromise affects your information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

6. Retention

We retain enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to respond, manage any resulting work, and meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. The period depends on whether the enquiry leads to a project and whether we still have a lawful reason to keep the record. You can ask the Information Officer to delete information that is no longer needed.

Railway currently provides seven days of log history on our hosting plan. Resend retains email and delivery-log data for 30 days on its current plan. Copies received in our email mailboxes are retained separately under the enquiry criteria above. The contact-form rate limit uses a 15-minute window; it does not store your message.

7. Your rights

You may ask whether we hold information about you and request access to it, ask us to correct or delete it, object to its processing, withdraw consent at any time, and complain to the Information Regulator. Email our Information Officer at jc@klont.co.za to make a request. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.

8. Information Officer

Klont’s Information Officer is Jc Cloete. For privacy questions, access or correction requests, deletion requests, or complaints, email jc@klont.co.za. You can also write to the registered office listed above, addressed to the Information Officer.

9. Complaints

You can raise a concern with our Information Officer at jc@klont.co.za. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa). Its eServices portal accepts POPIA complaints, and its website provides current contact details and guidance.

10. Children

This website is not aimed at children. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

11. Cookies and browser storage

This website uses no tracking, analytics or advertising cookies. Its colour scheme follows your device’s light or dark appearance setting without saving a display preference in your browser. Older versions saved display and storage-notice preferences; you can remove those by clearing this site’s data in your browser.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
